RZ-133 Neutron/Gamma Ray Detection

Delta Epsilon has developed and patented a unique radiation survey monitor that represents a breakthrough in the high-efficiency detection and rapid localization of sources of gamma and neutron emitting radiation.

RZ-133 neutron/gamma ray detection instrument

Key Features & Specifications

  • Rapid survey capability from sea, ground, or air — seaborne applications could screen vessels without boarding
  • Gamma sensitivity rated 50× higher than ANSI N-42.33 standard handheld instruments (7,000 cps response for 1mCi Cs-137 at 5 meters)
  • Enhanced gamma spectroscopy using NaI with improved peak-to-Compton ratio
  • 3-D gamma directional array for azimuthal and vertical source direction
  • Neutron sensitivity approximately 14× greater than ANSI N42.34 and IAEA standards (~50 c/s for 1μg Cf-252 at 5 meters)
  • Angular resolution better than 10 degrees for both neutron and gamma source direction

Delta Epsilon is interested in a possible collaborative effort with an appropriate partner or entity to undertake further development and commercialization of these instruments and their unique capabilities.
